What does 'Culture' mean to me?
Throughout the lessons and various videos i have seen, culture to me is what defines you, what makes you the person you are today. High culture is associated with the canon, however to me that is just a symbolizing statistic, to me that means a high culture is what a person values the most or what a person sees is superior to them. For example, culture to me is my friends and family, they are my high culture because they define me, they make me the person i am today. Also the phrase: 'To be culturally worthwhile, it has to be difficult' I believe this is the best definition of culture because it completely sums up what life is, putting in simple terms that you can't have anything good without a little bit of bad, this represents culture because its telling that if something is truly valued or rated a person will work hard at it. Furthermore a popular culture is something that is in the mainstream, which everyone has to keep up to date with and follow the crowd so they can fit in. But i think that popular culture to a person is what you keep up with or what is your interests, if something moves you or makes you escape from the world or a situation, that to me is a culture.

You are clearly engaging with the concept of culture and what it means to you - so well done! I think you need to separate out your ideas about high culture and popular culture just to make them a little clearer.I am not sure what you mean by 'symbolising statistic' but I get the gist of what you are saying overall. I think you do need to keep the term 'high culture' quite specific, although I do understand what you are trying to say about your family being high culture as that is what you place value on! However, you are beginning to engage with the key concepts and have made a great start. Well done.Keep on top of posting comments about your work to reinforce your learning!
